Journey Of A Thousand Miles- The First Step

I bet you don't remember the first step you took as a baby. However, that first step of yours was the beginning of the millions of steps to be taken by you as you would grow. You can run for miles. You can walk for hours. You can skip and jump like a bunny. Why? Because of the first step you took. Those who take their first step later get to start walking and running in the later stages of their lives and those who never take their first step get to crawl. They never get to taste the charisma of walking and running. Same is the case with life. Those who get to know it earlier get to succeed in it earlier than those who who get to know it later and those never get to know it at all. Life is a game. You have to struggle and work hard to run ahead of others and reach the finish line tape. By others, I mean "you" as well. The very you, who is competing against "non-yous".

As we call the life of ours a "competition", there must be some competitors. Actually, there is only one competitor and that being you. You have to fight against yourself. You have to struggle against your ego. You have to overcome  your fears. Your have to work on your inner self more than you work on your outerself. Imagine a bodybuilder having a huge body. He must have worked nights and days for it. He must have invested in himself a lot more than one can imagine. But if he has no guts to come on the stage and compete against other inferior bodybuilders, how can he become Mr.Olympia? Imagine an artist who can paint the most wonderful paintings in the world, but if she can't convince herself to come out into the world and exhibit her work, how could someone know about her? I call this "convincing oneself" as the first step of a baby child. The child who would go on a journey of thousands of miles in his life as he grows.

Lets come to the point. I want to tell you something.
  • The blog you started last year is getting huge traffic
  • Your Youtube channel is getting lots of subscribers and views this year
  • Your Tiktok is getting more followers than last year
  • Your online business is growing larger every year
  • Books you startded reading last year has led you to finish your 80th book last week
  • Weight and health maintenance from last year has got you Instagram fans in thousands
  • Your Youtube podcast is getting attention every passing day
  • The book you started writing last year is being published this year
  • The online courses you enrolled in got you some serious skills
But nothing is working the way it should have been. Because you never started anything last year or the years before. You are either too stupid, too lazy or too shy to start anything that could make you a fortune. Your first blog might be a failure. Your first podcast might make you a laughing stock for others. Your first book might not be interesting. Your first few products might not sell quickly. Your first youtube video might be a disaster but what about the 10thWHAT ABOUT THE 100th?

Lets get to know a story from Elon Musk's life. As he got his money from Paypal, Musk invested $100 Million to found SpaceX, a private space company. He invested his fortune in this company. He launched his first rocket named Crew Dragon and it blasted. The second was even a bigger failure and even the third rocket exploded on landing. He was bankrupt. His company was bankrupt. He had less than enough money to pay his debts but he took the risk once again and convinced everyone for a 4th launch. In his 4th attempt, he succeeded in launching a rocket into space and bringing it back in one piece which got him a NASA contract of over $1.2 Billion. Somewhere on the internet I heard him say,
"If the 4th launch had been unsuccessful, the only option I would have had with me would be suicide."
I ask you, how would Elon Musk become a billionaire if he had not foun SpaceX? How would he become a successful person if he had not launched his first rocket? How would he achieve perfection in space rockets if he had not seen continous failures? He believed in himself. He convinced himself first and then others. Only then was he able to do what he wanted to do.

Listen, it doesn't matter where you start. It matters where you end. Start from a scratch and end with a global recognition. Dream big and dare to fail. If your dreams don't scare you, they are not big enough. In such matters, listen to your head instead of your heart. If you believe in yourself, you can be whatever you wanted to be. Don't show off. Talk less. Learn daily. Help others. Laugh more. Life is too short to set small goals. Read books. Reading is free and it is a massive investment in oneself. Every book that you read gives you different key to your life success. Don't wait for the perfect moment. Make every moment perfect. You have wasted enough of your time. Start right now.

The time to take risks has come. It is knocking on your door. In the morning, you have two options.
  1. Go back to sleep and dream. Or,
  2. Get up and chase your dreams.
You know which option is better.

Make yourself believe in you. You can do what you want to do. You just have to take that first step. You have to convince yourself. You have to face failure. You have to overcome fears. Make a mindset. Get up. And take the first step. You have to start that journey that you have always wanted to go on. Remember,
"A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step."
